Frank Watson Dunn was born in North Kensington, London. A Clerk by occupation, he attested for the Army Service Corps at London on 27 December 1900, aged 19 years, 8 months. He transferred to the 10th Hussars in March 1901 and served with them in South Africa, November 1901-September 1902 and in India, September 1902-December 1908. Transferred to the Army Reserve in December 1908, he was discharged having completed his service on 26 December 1912.
