The two 1914 Star’s to McFarlane are both named in the same style and may possibly be trial pieces.

Percy Banbury was born in Walworth, London on 17 January 1893. A Medical Student at St. Thomas’s Hospital in his final year when war broke out, he joined the R.N.V.R. as a Probationer Surgeon Lieutenant. In 1919 he gained the M.R.C.S. and L.R.C.P. Specialising in psychiatric work, his first appointment after leaving the Royal Navy in 1920 was at Crighton Royal, Dumfries. Later he worked for the mental hospital service of the London County Council, obtaining the D.P.M. in 1927. In 1930 he went to Ipswich as Medical Superintendent of the Ipswich Mental Hospital, remaining there until ill health forced his retirement in 1953. Dr Banbury died in Ipswich on 18 July 1958.
