John Thomas Gage was born in Faversham, Kent and enlisted at Chatham. Serving with the 1st Battalion South Wales Borderers, he entered the France / Flanders theatre of war on 13 August 1914. He died of wounds on 23 September 1915. He was buried in the Chocques Military Cemetery.
