James W. Garvey was born in Liverpool, lived in Dublin and enlisted at Liverpool. As a Private in the 1st Battalion Wiltshire Regiment he entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 22 August 1914. He died of wounds on 22 October 1914, aged 28 years. He was the son of John and Frances Garvey of 105 Lower Dorset Street, Dublin. He was buried in Bethune Town Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France. With copied m.i.c. and casualty details.
