Albert Victor Vickers was born in Stockton and enlisted in Durham. He entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 17 April 1915. Serving with the 20th Battalion Durham Light Infantry, he was killed in action, France/Flanders, on 25 July 1917. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial.
