Gordon Winthrop Harrison was born on 5 May 1932. A Projectionist by occupation, he entered the Army as a National Serviceman on 21 September 1950 and was posted to the K.O.S.B. Serving in Korea with “C” Company, he was killed in action by a stray Chinese mortar round, on 27 March 1952.
Sold with the recipient’s Soldier’s Record and Pay Book; identity disc; recipient’s notebook (damaged); two letters dated 1952 re. death grants, addressed to his father, Mr H. W. Harrison, of 6 Health Street, Shotton, Chester; registered envelope for British Korea Medal, addressed to his father in 1957, then living at 15 Terrig Street, Queensferry, Nr. Chester’; named card box of issue for the U.N. Korea Medal; a booklet A Short History of the King’s Own Scottish Borderers; photograph of the recipient, and some copied research.
