John H. Munro, who was born in Aberdeen about 1891, was killed in action during the attack on Mametz Wood on the first day of the Battle of the Somme, 1 July 1916, while serving in the 2nd Battalion. He is buried in the Dantzig Alley Cemetery, Mametz, France.
