1914 Star, with clasp (2. Lieut., R. Ir. Rif.); British War and Victory Medals (2. Lieut.); together with memorial plaque (Henry Poyntz Swaine) all contained within a double-fronted, hinged fitted leatherette display case, this in a damaged condition, good very fine or better (4) £500-550

Henry Poyntz Swaine was born on 31 March 1890; educated at Marlborough College; and resided at Morris Lodge, Farnham, Surrey. He joined the Royal Irish Rifles as a Second Lieutenant on 5 October 1910. He was killed in action in France and Flanders on 15 September 1914 whilst serving with the 2nd Battalion, Royal Irish Rifles, and is commemorated on La Ferte-Sous-Jouarre Memorial, Seine-et-Marne, France.
