John William Wardle was born in and enlisted at Manchester. Serving with the 1st Battalion K.R.R.C. he was killed in action on 8 February 1916, aged 21 years. He was buried in the Guards Cemetery, Windy Corner, Cuinchy. He was the son of Jown William and Emily Wardle of Manchester.
