M.B.E. London Gazette 23 May 1958 ‘… in recognition of distinguished services in Malaya.’
Colonel Graeme John Olley was born in April 1931, receiving his commission in the Royal Engineers in 1952 having already served nearly two years in the ranks. He was mentioned in despatches for his services in Malaya and subsequently qualified for Staff Service and as a light aircraft pilot, in 1962 being shown in the Army List as Royal Engineers, attached Army Air Corps. He attained the rank of Colonel in 1981, before retiring in 1986.
