Cyris Dion was born in Cabano, Temiswatu County. Enlisting in the 132nd (North Sore) Battalion at Valcartier in September 1916, he was serving as a Lance-Corporal in the 42nd Battalion (Royal Highlanders of Canada) when killed in action at Parvillers on 12 August 1918 - the same occasion on which Private Thomas Dinesen of the 42nd won the Victoria Cross (London Gazette 26 October 1918 refers). Having no known grave,Dion’s name is commemorated on the Vimy Memorial; sold with copied service and other papers.
