Thomas Gibbons was born in Liverpool, Lancashire, on 21 February 1893. A Labourer by occupation, he enlisted into the 80th Battalion at Ottawa in July 1916, but was serving with the 10th (Canadians) Battalion when he was killed in action the day before the attack on Vimy Ridge, on 8 April 1917. Buried in the Ecoivres Military Cemetery, Mont-St. Eloi, he was the son of John and Ellen Gibbons of Liverpool; sold with copied service and other papers.
