Bath, Francis Heath, Halfpence (7), 1794 (2), heath edge, 9.72g/6h (DH 39), edge payable by thomas ball sleaford and with additional large six-pointed star counterstamped on both sides, 9.41g/6h (DH 39, edge unpublished), 1795 (2), both edges grained, large [31mm] flan, 9.61g/6h, small [29mm] flan, 9.33g/6h (both DH 40), 1796 (3), revs. Pump Room, edge grained, 9.79g/6h (DH 41), Walcot Turnpike (2), walcot edge, 10.43g/6h (DH 45), edge plain, 6.77g/5h (DH 45, edge unlisted by Davisson); Farthings (2), 1794, 4.79g/6h (DH 115), 1795, 4.59g/6h (DH 116); mule Halfpence by Lutwyche (2), revs. arms of Bath, anglesey edge, 11.13g/6h (DH 42), ancient tower, anglesey edge, 11.52g/6h (DH 43) [11]. Francis Heath, ironmonger, brazier and cutler, 15 Bath street, and from 1799 at 2 Bath street, opposite Mary Lambe & Son (see lot 1660); he was declared bankrupt at the end of 1800 and his stock auctioned in Bath in January 1801, but by 1805 he was back in business at 15 Stall street (Griffin,
SCMB, 1958, pp.107-8, and Pottinger, Coin News, July 2005, p.44). The Walcot Turnpike is discussed by Brooke (CTCJ Winter 2001, pp.30-1)
