Second about extremely fine but lightly scuffed, others very fine, last with some rim bruises but very rare (£200-250)

Abraham Seward (†June 1823, aged 66), brass and bell founder, Market street, wife’s name Mary (†November 1841, aged 81). Skerton Bridge, shown on the tokens, was built over the river Lune between 1785 and 1788. The architect, Thomas Harrison, incorporated a novel design in that it was the the first bridge to have a flat deck for all of its length – a feature copied later for new bridges across the river Thames in London
