Victoria (1837-1901), 1882/1h, dies Pp, similar, rev. convex shield, 9.50g/12h (Gouby K; F 111 [dies 11+M; Sale, lot 69]; Adams 283; BMC –; S 3955). Two spots on obverse and traces of handling both sides, otherwise extremely fine with much original colour, very rare (£200-250)

This variety was first discovered by Malcolm Peake in June 1979. A slightly less fine specimen sold for £360 in July 2003 (Croydon Coin Auctions, lot 178)
