One Pound, 2 February 1866, no. 59599, Ballina, contemporary forgery, ‘Forged’ written twice on front (Pick –). Split and rejoined at centre, missing part of top right and piece at bottom, otherwise intact, good to very good (£200-250)

After the final two branches relinquished their independent status in January 1856 all notes were issued by the National Bank
