One Hundred Pounds, 184–, Edinburgh, uniface proof on card, titles of four constituent banks in borders, tiny punch-holes across signature areas (cf. Douglas 5). Spots of very light foxing, mount marks and small paper remnants on back, otherwise extremely fine, rare (£1,200-1,500)

The first notes issued by the bank were printed by W.H. Lizars. The issued £100 was payable at Glasgow but the design of this Edinburgh note is recorded by Douglas (Scottish Banknotes, pp.224-5)
