British Provincial, Wales, PEMBROKESHIRE, Milford Haven, Milford & Pembrokeshire Bank, One Guinea, 26 December 1809, no. 565, for Charles Philipps, Thomas Philipps & Co, signed by Charles Philipps (Outing 1431A; Grant 1944). Pinholes and a small piece out of lower edge, otherwise fine £80-100

The bank failed in 1810 but other members of the Jewish Philipps banking family established a very successful bank at Haverfordwest, which issued silver tokens in 1811 and was active for many years after that
