Provenance: J.L. Wetton Collection; R.A. Shuttlewood Collection, Spink Auction 151, 15 March 2001, lot 699, additionally: first SCMB August 1972.

Second only illustrated. Samuel Bacon, ironmonger. The dies were acquired by the antiquary Browne Willis (1682-1760) and, it is thought, were presented by him, together with his collection of coins and tokens, to the University of Oxford in 1741. They are preserved today at the Ashmolean Museum
