Unattributed, ENGLAND, George III, Penny, 1797, obv. countermarked st. thomas incuse, ata monogram and 1852 in relief within plain circles, 24.89g/384.1gr (Prid. 2). Coin worn flat, countermarks about fine £30-40

Provenance: Bt New Netherlands 1972.

The St Thomas countermarks have in the past been associated with the Danish West Indies, but are in fact an unattributed British issue
