Philip Brady was born in Limerick and attested for the 37th Regiment at Halifax, Nova Scotia on 22 January 1841 and attained the rank of Colour Sergeant in May 1860. With the regiment he served overseas in Halifax, Nova Scotia, 1 year and in Ceylon, 9 years, 9 months. He was discharged on 23 June 1865; his intended place of residence stated to be Alnwick, Northumberland. Brady was awarded the M.S.M. with an annuity of £10 on 14 May 1876. He died on 20 November 1905. With copied discharge papers.
