(Ch. 20224 Pte., R.M.L.I.); 1939-45 Star; War Medal 1939-45; Royal Fleet Reserve L.S., G.V.R., coinage bust (Ch. 20224 (Ch. B. 2662) Mne., R.F.R.), this last with (slack) replacement straight bar suspension, the earlier awards with contact wear, about very fine, the 1939-45 ones extremely fine (5) £80-100

Harry Ledgard was lost in the S.S. Silver Palm on 9 June 1941, when that vessel was torpedoed and sunk - the only contemporary clue to her fate was the discovery of one of her lifeboats 500 miles west of the Hebrides on 17 July. It contained eight bodies.

Ledgard, who was a D.E.M.S. Gunner, and 42 years of age, left a widow who was resident at Bradford, Yorkshire.
