Six: Temporary Petty Officer C. F. M. Coxe, Royal Naval Reserve, afterwards Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve

1939-45 Star; Atlantic Star; Africa Star; War Medal 1939-45; Royal Naval Reserve L.S., G.VI.R.,
1st issue (18148A. A./P.O., R.N.R.), third initial not given; Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve L.S., E.II.R., 2nd issue (K. 996176 L.S.A. (V.), R.N.V.R.), contact marks, edge bruising and a little polished, otherwise generally very fine (6) £140-160

Coxe received his Royal Naval Reserve L.S. Medal at the training establishment Duke in January 1945. Presumably demobilised shortly afterwards, it is just conceivable that he could have immediately enrolled in the “Wavy Navy” and then gone on to qualify for the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve L.S. Medal in 1947, after 12 years service; it is also possible, of course, that the latter Medal was actually awarded to another member of the Coxe family.
