Edwards, 9th Lancers); Army L.S. & G.C., V.R., small letter reverse (836 Willm. William Edwards was born in Putney, London, and enlisted there into the 3rd Light Dragoons on 24 January 1842, transferring three months later to the 9th Lancers.He served almost seventeen years abroad in Bengal and the East Indies and was discharged, at his own request, at Curragh Camp on 2 October 1866. During his service with the 9th Lancers, Edwards gained the full compliment of medals that the regiment won on campaign in India and was rewarded with the medal for long service and good conduct. Sold with copy discharge papers which confirm all medals and clasps.
