Bishin Singh, who gained advancement to Havildar, died in Mesopotamia on 8 March 1917, quite possibly as a result of wounds received at Sannaiyat on 22 February. The son of Dewa Singh of Mirankot, Amritsar, he is commemorated on the Basra Memorial
