Royal Red Cross, 2nd Class (A.R.R.C.), G.V.R. , silver and enamel, on bow ribbon; 1914 Star (E. M. Cooper, B.R.C.S. & St.J.J.); British War and Victory Medals (Sister E. M. Weller); British Red Cross Society Medal, enamelled, (422 Elizabeth M. Cooper); Guy’s Hospital Medal, for 5 Years Service (Elizabeth Mary Cooper), silver, with pin attachment, note maiden and married surnames, good very fine and better (6) £320-360

Sister Elizabeth Mary Cooper entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 4 October 1914, serving with B.R.C.S. 5th Unit. She transferred to the Q.A.I.M.N.S.R. in 1915. She was demobilized from the service on 15 April 1919, having served at Frensham Hill Military Hospital, Farnham, Surrey for the previous three and a half years. At the time of her demobilization her home address was given as ‘Flint Cottage’, Aylesbury, Bucks.’ Sold with copied service papers and research, including a glowing letter of recommendation from the Acting Matron of Frensham Hospital.
