John Wingfield Willshire was born on 8 January 1877. He served in the ranks of the R.A.M.C. during 1900-14, being promoted to Warrant Officer in 1914. Promoted to Quartermaster and Honorary Lieutenant in April 1915 and Honorary Captain in March 1918, he attained the rank of Major in January 1930 and was placed on Half Pay in 1932. Re-employed during 1939-44, he died on 19 June 1962.
