Civil Surgeon T. W. Stanton is confirmed on the Royal Niger Company roll as having been engaged in the operations on the Niger between 6 January and 25 February 1897, and entitled to the medal and clasp. On the copied roll extract his address is given as ‘West Haven, Enys Road, Eastbourne’.
