Military General Service 1793-1814, 1 clasp, Vimiera (G. Peach, Surgn. 52nd Foot) fitted with silver ribbon buckle, extremely fine £1200-1500

Ex Payne collection.

George Peach was born on 30 June 1778. He was appointed as Hospital Mate in October 1799, and as Apothecary to the 35th Foot four months later. In 1802 he was appointed Assistant Surgeon to the Royal Horse Guards, and as Surgeon to the 52nd Foot in August 1805. He served with the 52nd in the expedition to Copenhagen in 1807, at the battle of Vimiera in 1808, and in the Walcheren expedition in 1809. He transferred as Surgeon to the 9th Light Dragoons in June 1809, and retired on half pay in February 1815. He died on 21 July 1856.
