Bank of Rewards, a beautifully produced little note for 1 Penny, date unknown, serial number 1, promising to ‘give, as a reward of Diligence and Good Conduct, the value of one penny’, and made out by hand to Mary Lees, with the signature of A. Bowie, Teacher, with a very sweet vignette of two children, one gardening and the other playing with a bat and shuttlecock, unusual for being printed on both sides, very good and probably a unique survivor
Outing unlisted £150-£200

It has not been possible to trace either of the two people mentioned, as there is no date on the note and no location mentioned. However, the note is in a format that bears considerable resemblance to several 19th century Scottish notes, so it may be from there.
