Robert Garrard joined the 95th Foot as an Ensign by purchase on 14 May 1852 and was promoted to Lieutenant on 18 November 1853. Serving in the Crimea with the regiment, he was severely wounded at Alma, 20 September 1854. Making a recovery, he then purchased the rank of Captain in the 5th Dragoon Guards on 13 February 1855. He retired from the Army in 1867. Sold with some copied research.
