Approximately 36 General Service Medals with clasp Palestine awarded to the Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry.

Harold James Wheeler was born in Bridgewater, Somerset, on 15 April 1911 and attested for the Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry at Taunton on 2 May 1928. Transferring to the Reserve, he was recalled as a Section “A” Reservist in September 1936, and served as part of a draft from the Regiment attached to the 2nd Battalion, King’s Royal Rifle Corps in Palestine from 10 September to 16 November 1936. He transferred to the 4th Battalion, Reconnaissance Corps, on 22 January 1941, and died in Taunton on 16 October 1988.
