Egypt and Sudan 1882-89, 1 clasp, Toski 1889 (2511 Pte. E. Mead, 20th Husrs.) light pitting from star, otherwise better than very fine £300-350

Of the 155 men of the 20th Hussars who were in the 1888-89 campaign, only 16 had the single clasp for Gemaizah.

Edward Mead was born in London and enlisted into the Royal West Surrey Regiment at Southark on 5 May 1884, an iron moulder by trade, aged 18. He transferred to the 20th Hussars on 31 December 1884, and served in Egypt from October 1885 to November 1890, including the action at Toski. Sold with copy discharge papers which confirm medal and clasp.
