‘.... What peculiarly struck my attention was the restoration of an useful and valuable class of men, our seamen; who, by the unwearied efforts of the Navy Surgeons, were snatched from the jaws of Death. These numerous cases, communicated to the Society, were attested in the most satisfactory manner by Admiral Pakenham, Sir Charles Fairfax, Sir Thomas Williams, Captain Puget, Captain Sutton, James Woodford, Esq. etc.’ Listed as being presented with an Honorary medallion by the Lord Mayor in the R.H.S. Annual Report 1801.
