Five: Squadron Leader A. A. McLaren, Royal Air Force

1939-45 Star; Burma Star; Defence and War medals; Royal Air Force L.S. & G.C., G.VI.R.,
1st issue (362103 F./Sgt., R.A.F.), the 1939-45 awards in their original addressed card forwarding box to ‘S./Ldr. A. A. McLaren, Room 215, D.A.I.S./I.S. 1’ at the Air Ministry, the last with one or two official corrections, extremely fine (5) £100-120

A. A. McLaren was born in January 1906 and was commissioned as a Pilot Officer in the Royal Air Force in November 1940. Thereafter, he appears to have been employed as an Engineer in the Technical Branch, or at least until his final appointment as an Intelligence Officer in the offices of Director of the Air Intelligence Service at the Air Ministry. Having been advanced to Flight Lieutenant in September 1949, he retired in the rank of Squadron Leader in the same year.
