Henry George James was born at Clapham, Surrey and lived at Hyde Park, Middlesex. He was killed in action in France and Flanders on 20 December 1914 whilst serving with the 1st Battalion, Manchester Rgiment and his name is commemorated on the Le Touret Memorial, France.
