Three: Assistant Commissary General E. Fitzstubbs, Commissariat and Transport Staff, late Control Department

Ashantee 1873-74, clasp Coomassie loose on ribbon but not entitled (Asst. Comsy. Fitzstubbs, Control Dept.) note lack of initial; Egypt and Sudan 1882-89, dated reverse, no clasp (A.C. Genl.E. Fitzstubbs, C & T. Staff); Khedive’s Star 1882, unnamed, light pitting from star, otherwise very fine and better (3) £350-400

The medal roll of the Control Department for the Coomassie clasp shows ‘Yes’ crossed through against Fitzstubbs’ name and ‘No’ inserted in the relevant column. A separate note states ‘As regards Assist. Commissary Fitzstubbs, this officer was not under fire but during the five days, 31 Jan. to 4 Feby., was at Accrofuma with the Detachment engaged there in keeping open the line of communication.’
