Richard George Wreford was born at Exeter, Devon, on 7 September 1848, and joined the Navy in September 1862 as a Boy 2nd Class aboard H.M.S. Barrosa. He served aboard Hart as an Able Seaman, and later Leading Seaman, from January 1874 until March 1876, including operations in the Malay Peninsula, and in the Sultan in Egypt from April 1882 until invalided to Haslar Hospital on 9 November 1883. Sold with copy service record and medal roll entries.
