Private William Alfred Williams, R.A.O.C., died as a prisoner-of-war of the Japanese on 26 June 1943, aged 33 years. He was buried in the Chungkai War Cemetery, Thailand. He was the son of William Thomas and Catherine Rule Williams and husband of Laura Williams of Helston, Cornwall. Sold with named condolence slip and card medal forwarding box addressed to, ‘Mrs L. Williams, Star Corner, Breage, Helston, Cornwall’. Also with modern photographs of the named brass plaque to Williams in Breage Church and the Memorial Cross bearing the names of the fallen in Breage Churchyard.
