Five: Warrant Officer Class 2 S. V. Hale, Parachute Regiment

1939-45 Star; Africa Star; Italy Star; Defence and War Medals, all unnamed as issued; together with two brass badges, good very fine (7) £140-180

Samuel Verdun Hale was born on 12 March 1916. A Clerk by occupation, he enlisted into the Army on 18 April 1940. Serving with the Parachute Regiment from 1943 onwards, he qualified as a Parachutist , at Ringway, Manchester on 10 August 1944. Attaining the rank of Orderley Room Quartermaster Sergeant, he was released from service in the 2nd Parachute Regiment in 1946 - his Release Book signed by the officer commanding 2 S.A.S. Regiment. After the war he lived in Armley, Leeds.

Sold with the recipient’s ‘Soldier’s Service and Pay Book’, ‘Soldier’s Release Book’, Special Air Service Regimental Association Membership Card and other papers.
