Three: Able Seaman H. Andrews, Royal Navy

Egypt and Sudan 1882-89, undated reverse, no clasp (A.B., H.M.S. Briton); Khedive’s Star, 1884-86, unnamed; Royal Humane Society Medal, small, bronze, successful (Henry Andrews, Capt. of Fore Top, H.M.S. Briton, 29 Sept. 1886), bronze buckle on ribbon, minor contact marks, very fine (3) £180-220

‘Henry Andrews, Henry G. Smith, John Upton and John Hulse, all of H.M.S. Briton, rescued Chas. Rosevear, same ship, from drowning in Bombay Harbour, on the 29th September, 1886’. For which Andrews was awarded a bronze medal, Smith a bronze clasp and Upton and Hulse awarded a vellum certificate. (ref. R.H.S. Annual Report).
