Indian Mutiny 1857-59, 1 clasp, Lucknow (Colr. Serjt. Hh. Hayles, 3rd Bn. Rifle Bde.) suspension slack, light contact marks, otherwise nearly very fine £300-350

Henry Thomas Hayles was born on 28 June 1837. He joined the Rifle Brigade and served throughout the Indian Mutiny, including the capture of Lucknow. He was invalided to England on 21 February 1860, and was subsequently commissioned, as Lieutenant & Quarter-Master, into the Army Service Corps on 30 October 1875. He was promoted to Captain & Quarter-Master in October 1885, retired on Half Pay in June 1892, but remained on temporary employment until July 1898.
