Pair: Surgeon Benjamin Robinson, 12th Light Dragoons

Military General Service 1793-1814, 1 clasp, Salamanca (B. Robinson, Surgn. 12th Lt. Dgns.); Waterloo 1815 (Surgn. B. Robinson, 12th Reg Light Drag.) fitted with steel clip and ring suspension, naming unofficially re-impressed on the second, nearly very fine, the first good very fine (2) £1200-1500

Benjamin Robinson was born on 26 October 1769. He was first appointed as Ensign and Surgeon to the East Riding Militia on 24 March 1793, becoming Hospital Mate in October 1794. He served in the campaign in Holland in 1794 and at the Cape of Good Hope in 1795, having been appointed as Surgeon to the 95th Foot in February of that year. He was appointed to the 46th Foot in June 1797, and to the 12th Light Dragoons in October 1803, with whom he served in the Walcheren expedition in 1809, in the Peninsula from 1811-14, including the battle of Salamanca, and at the battle of Waterloo. He retired on half pay on 30 June 1825 and died in Jersey on 14 June 1856.
