Lionel Thomas Cousins was born in Teignmouth, Devonshire on 26 October 1893. A Gardener by occupation, he enlisted into the Royal Marine Artillery in January 1912, aged 18 years, 2 months. He served as a Gunner, March 1913-September 1923, serving on the Swiftsure, March 1913-May 1916, Renown, September 1916-November 1920 and Hood, June-August 1921. Ranked as a Marine from September 1923, he was awarded the Long Service medal in May 1927. Entitled to the 1914-15 Star, British War and Victory Medals in addition to the above. Sold with copied service papers.
