British War and Victory Medals (Capt.) good very fine (2) £80-100

Herbert Overton Long Price was born in Carmarthenshire on 13 September 1875. He served in the Boer War with the 35th and 39th Imperial Yeomanry and retired from the army with the rank of Lieutenant. Reappointed a Lieutenant in the Pembrokeshire Yeomanry on 27 September 1914, he entered the France/Flanders theatre of war in March 1917, in command of the 8th North Hampshire Labour Company. However, his active service at the front was short-lived, and he re-embarked for England on 25 April suffering from debility, exhaustion and neurasthenia. With his medical problems persisting, he remained in England for the remainder of the war, attaining the rank of Captain on 27 December 1917. He was permitted to resign his commission and retain the rank of Captain in May 1919. Sold with copied service papers and m.i.c.
