Indian Mutiny 1857-59, 2 clasps, Relief of Lucknow, Lucknow (Jas. Moylan, 53rd Regt.) contact marks, nearly very fine £300-350

James Moylan was born in Co. Tipperary and enlisted into the 18th Regiment in January 1844. He transferred to the 53rd Regiment in December 1850 and to the 99th Regiment in February 1860. Serving 12 years in the East Indies, he was awarded the India General Service Medal with clasp for ‘Pegu’ and the China Medal 1857-60 with clasp for ‘Pekin 1860’ in addition to the above. He was discharged at his own request, having completed 21 years service, on 16 March 1865. Sold with copied discharge papers.
