Ghuznee 1839, pewter, contained in a silver framed glazed case with swivel-ring bar suspension (Sepoy Champa Goorung, B. Eur. Regt.) good very fine and extremely rare £600-800

Believed to one of about 500 medals struck in pewter by Shah Soojah for issue to the native troops but, in the event of his premature death, never issued. The dies were afterwards taken over by the Govenment of India and the medals issued in silver to all European troops present at Ghuznee.
