Army of India 1799-1826, 1 clasp, Bhurtpoor (Lieut. G. Chichester, 59th Foot) short hyphen reverse, officially impressed naming, suspension re-fixed, edge bruise, otherwise very fine £1200-1400

George Chichester was born at Arlington, Devon, on 5 August 1797, and was appointed Lieutenant in the 59th Regiment on 7 March 1822. He was placed on half-pay in the rank of Captain on 12 November 1825, and was slightly wounded during the assault on Bhurtpore. He was still alive in 1871, living at Great Malvern, in the rank of Major.
