Thomas William Jones first entered the French theatre of war as a Private in the 1st Battalion, Monmouthshire Regiment in mid-February 1915, was awarded his Efficiency Medal in Army Order 59 of 1924 and is confirmed on the official roll for his Jubilee 1935 Medal - one of just 5 awarded to men of the 1st Battalion.
