The ‘marines’ serving on board the H.E.I. Company’s ships were mostly provided by 57 Bombay Artillerymen. Richard Connor is confirmed as having served as one of the 14 marines on board the Auckland. Douglas-Morris does not record any surviving examples but two have since been sold in these rooms who served on board the Phlegethon and Sesostris.
